Parent-in-Law: A Humorous Flash Fiction Piece

The stout man hid trembled behind the wall, his hands wringing one another as sweat poured from his face. He chewed his bottom lip and groan with displeasure as he heard the heels echoing throughout the home. His eyes drifted to the garage entrance. He lifted his arm and took a step toward what he thought would be freedom. She wouldn’t know he left, she never saw him enter the home in the first place. As his hand touched the brass knob, he winced and cowered at the voice shrieking at him from deep inside the home.

“You better not be trying to escape, Gerry. We never go to see my mother anymore; you aren’t going to get away so easily!”
