Modern Fantasy Flash Fiction: Magical

I can now blame this one on my friend Heidi. She is an amazing mother who has the children (furry and other) to inspire this piece of Modern Fantasy Flash Fiction. Be sure to leave a message here and thank her if you enjoyed it.

The baby cooed with wide eyes as it watched the woman balance a sparkling green ball on her fingertip. Inside the sphere raged a violent magical storm, causing it to hop and writhe. The child giggled and clapped at the sudden movements, causing the magician to smile and snatch the globe before it fell from her fingertip. She leaned forward and kissed her daughter’s forehead, gently running her hand over the child’s azure hair. “One day, you’ll have the power to destroy the world too. That’ll be our little secret; your father hates it when I am not normal.”
