Dark Poetry: Dark Reflections of Me

Another dark poem from my mind as I was dealing with my darkness coming back into my life. Granted, things have changed, but the more things change. . . Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy!
I stand at the brink once more
Gazing into toxic pits of my soul
Watching helplessly as the demon emerges
Recoiling as it shifts toward me
The coal eyes glittering in hate
“You thought you could get away
Leave me alone in this bubbling hole
There is no escaping me this day
I am your reflection, your companion
As a part of you as your limbs.”
I shake my head in dismay
Mouthing words of rejection
As the demon crawls out and stares at me
I feel anger as I look at my face staring back
Laughing derisively as the world fades
