Fallen Love Poetry: The Bitter Void

This bitterly dark love poem came to me as I was listening to some Mournful Congregation. Again, I have never loved this much in my life, but I can see it in my mind. I hope this sad piece can help you find whatever it is you are looking for. Thanks for reading and enjoy!
The eternal void has more warmth than your kiss
Our love lost in the moment is never ending
A gulf that cannot be filled, we look across a canyon
What became of us so long ago, when passion’s fires raged?
Were we foolish enough to let it be snuffed by jealousy?
We danced in fields of dandelion dreams and wheat wishes
The soil was under our feet and our backs, supporting us
Our lusts and desires spiraling as a raging inferno
Intent to consume us in its ever growing heat
Now the ashes of our adoration blow in the chilled wind
The toxic shade envelopes your eyes, marring your beauty
In their reflection, I can see the forest clouded in darkness
Our field is no longer; your field is now open to others
As the dagger points of accusation shoot across the expanse
Puncturing my heart, gushing love until it is a dim candle
What I could do for that one moment, to stop the monster in me
I broke your soul; I ravaged the meadows where we played
The castle in the clouds crashing to the ground in a heap
Our dreams of wedded bliss and offspring now wisps fading
Much as our lives must part, so must our memories
I have wronged you.
I hope you find your champion
I want him to vanquish my spectre
I need him to become your conquering king
So I could see the forest in your eyes once more
Even if that forest is ablaze for another
