Dark Holiday Poetry: Dear Santa

This dark holiday themed poem was inspired by the seasons and my opinion on the world at this moment as well. I believe it still applies, even a year after I wrote it. Thanks for reading and enjoy!
Dear Santa
You know what I want
I have stopped believing
Since my father wore your beard
And left this mortal coil behind
The pain is too much to bare
The songs of joy cut through me
Leaving me an emotional wreck
Wanting it all to stop for a moment
So I can catch my breath
Dear Santa
I wanted to believe long ago
My heart just isn’t into it at all
No matter what people want
They demand I am a part of it
Failing to see my agony and pain
Calling me names and sneering
Only because of their fear
And lack of understanding
Dear Santa
I request you skip my house
I have no chimney to speak of
Nor do I need gifts this year
I only want my heart to heal
And perhaps change next year
So I can live in the present
Instead of being trapped in my past
Give my gift to those who need it
And give my father my best
