Classic Poetry: Be Careful Who You Champion

A classic encouraging poem for those who flock to people who make promises and say sweet words that mean nothing. Trust me, I feel the pain
Be careful who you champion, my friend
For your champion may not be who you want
They may not see it through to the end
For you to see what you may flaunt
Be careful what you champion, my friend
For your cause may not be as just
You may not be able to comprehend
What it is that you really do want
Be careful who you worship, my friend
They are not as grand as you think
They are more human than you intend
There is no need for you to tease
Be careful who you love, my friend
The harvest should be tender and grand
Something to fight for to the bitter end
Not someone to torment and seize
Be careful how you live, my friend
The life you life is short and sweet
There is more to it than you comprehend
Do not be afraid of what you desire
Be careful of the end, my friend
There is nothing to fear or dread
For it is just another way to transcend
Sit back and watch what will transpire
