Classic Poetry: Meadows of Feelings Lost

A classic poem written in February for a poetry prompt blog that is no more on my previous blog Notae dot net.
House of dreams in the meadow
Where my passions once grew
Streaking stars in abundant skies
Lighting my way back to my center
Finding my place in the universe
The nights were ever so wonderful
Lights coming to life to spite the sun
Love, anger, serenity mixed with a maze
Time slowed down on these fateful moments
Until the galaxy and I were one
I have lost my way to this place
Easy to stray off the path too well
Haunted by memories of what has passed
Freezing me in place, far away from you
My inner solar system of feelings
I vow to return to you once more
Not as a conquering king, beloved tyrant
But as a piece of the world’s puzzle
Returning to complete the picture
Becoming whole in the cosmos
